Here’s How It Works

Loft insulation creates a barrier against the upward movement of warm air from the lower sections of your home toward the roof.

The UK government's minimum recommended insulation depth is 270mm (11”), with many homes investing in up to 400mm. This exceeds the typical height of loft joists, usually only 100mm or less. Insulation’s effectiveness relies on the trapped air within it. This means it’s vital not to compress it. It can then work properly.

Correct Boarding Is A Must Have

If you plan to use your loft for storage after it’s insulated, we’ll ensure the correct boarding is used. Simply squashing it down when fitting loft boarding directly above causes inadequate air flow and ventilation, leading to inefficiency, damp and dreaded condensation.

That’s why we’ll ensure the correct boarding is used so that you can make the most of problem-free, additional storage space.

Remember, a quarter of heat is lost through your roof in an uninsulated home.
